Raw Cinnamon Roll Recipe -
Alternative To Baked Cinnamon Rolls!

This raw cinnamon roll recipe meets all the requirements of a delicious cinnamon roll but without the refined, baked ingredients of your average cinnamon rolls.

I love this recipe because you can roll up a batch or two to store in your freezer. Just slice them and dehydrate so they are warm and "baked-like". You won't believe how good they are!

When you dehydrate ground chia seed or flax it creates a texture much like that of bread.

Chia and flax seed are also both great for a healthy colon and help to sweep and move the bowels in a gentle way. So this recipe makes the perfect first meal of the day!

Cinnamon Roll Recipe:

  • 1 1/4C brazil nuts
  • 1 1/4C almonds
  • 1 1/4C golden flax
  • 1 1/4C chia seed
  • 1C dates
  • 1/4t sea salt
  • 1/4C melted coconut oil
  • 1/8C water
  • Filling:

  • 1 1/2C soaked raisens (or dried figs)
  • 2T cinnamon
  • water (enough to barely cover raisens)
Directions:
  1. Grind up nuts in Vitamix or Blendtec blender to make your "flour".
  2. Grind up flax or chia.
  3. Mix together in the same bowel.
  4. Process in a food processor dates, salt, oil, and water.
  5. Mix everything together to form a "dough".
  6. Add more water if necessary, but be careful not to add too much.
  7. Split the mixture in half.
  8. Place one half on a sheet of wax paper and press out to form a rectangle.
  9. Make your raisen filling by processing the above ingredients in a food processor or blender.
  10. Add more water ONLY if necessary.
  11. Should be a thick paste-like consistency.
  12. Place your filling on the dough sheet.
  13. Spread out evenly an 1/2 inch away from the edge.
  14. Roll your cinnamon roll, using the wax paper to lift it up and over as you roll. SEE PIC.
  15. After you create your log, place it overnight in the freezer.
  16. Slice about 1 inch thick and place in the dehydrator for 2 hours or more if desired.
  17. Serve warm.
We had a raw brunch potluck the other day and served these delicious cinnamon rolls .....they were a hit to say the least!
