One Day Juice Fast - Try A Short Super Juice Fast!
Doing a one day juice fast can do wonders to revive and clear out any obstructions to digestive and colon health.
I make it a ritual, even in the winter season, to do a juice fast one day out of the month. This is commonly a time to "build", rather than "cleanse", so a 24 hour juicing feast is perfect.
It is amazing how just a short period of time can set things straight again. This is especially helpful when there is a limited amount of sunlight being absorbed through the skin... because you can get it through your juices!
My Juice Fast For A Day!
Right now, it is winter where I am living. Despite this, I have been feeling like "taking a break from food" and cleaning out a little from the over indulgences of the holiday season. It feels like just the thing to add a bit of color to the cloudy days.
I basically give myself permission to juice WHATEVER fruits and veggies I want, no rules, just following my intuition and what sounds good.
My only goal is to drink as much juice as I can, which turns out to be a gallon or so total, for the day. I have been especially craving green juices, and of course mandarins are in season and super yummy sweet. I have also been winter super sprouting all kinds of delicious jar sprout varieties, so I juice those as well. Wild greens, like chickweed or miners lettuce, are also excellent choices and prolifically growing it the climate where I currently reside.
When I juice feast I like to make it a "special day". It is not absolutely necessary, however, to take time off from your daily routines. I have found it fairly easy to maintain your life and work as usual... just juice instead of eat!
If you do choose to take the time for yourself here are a few tips that I have discovered that make it a special and healing day. While you break up any stagnation internally, why not do something different on the outside with pampering rituals and activities that make it fun and open yourself up to new experiences.

Take the day off from work or schedules of any kind.
Rest when you feel tired.
Sit in the sunlight outside or in a sunlit window.
Juice with a partner or friend and spend the day together.

I felt so much more refreshed, activated and alive! And, as an added bonus, cleaning out really prepares the body for greater absorption of all the building superfoods that winter encourages.
