A fudge brownie recipe is a special treat we like to indulge in on occasion.
We typically make them when we have some fun gathering or festival to attend.
They are a great party food to share with friends and they are also very filling, so a little bit goes along way.
They are particularly perfect for shake-in it up with some good music.
They are a great dessert, yet "food" to sustain dancing energy and socializing with friends for many hours into the night.
They hold up well upon travel, so they are the perfect dessert food for festivals or festive events!
Plus they are made with one of my favorite nuts... hazelnuts! Hazelnuts have a great flavor that blends well with cacao beans.
We like to use whole cacao bean whenever we make cacao recipes, so they are as fresh and chocolatey as possible.
High quality cacao is usually a deep purple brown.
But, for this recipe you can also use cacao powder if it's more convenient.
Or, if you prefer, you can use carob powder instead of raw chocolate, substituting in equal proportions.

I love this recipe, and so do my friends. Keep some of these brownies on hand in the freezer for a last minute dessert for a potluck or music event!
Even frozen they retain their chewy texture in just a few minutes at room temp.
