Superfood Shake Recipe,
A Spiced Herbal Elixir

shake-recipe-elixir

Making a superfood shake recipe is a great way to get all the super nutrition that you need in one delicious drink. And, because it is already blended, all the ingredients are, in a sense, pre-digested. That means it takes less energy to digest and gives you more super-fuel to power through your day.

Like we have mentioned, we use herbal tea recipes as the foundation in blended drinks, soups and many of our recipes. They are an excellent way to integrate high concentrations of vitamins, minerals, protein, adaptogens, and polysaccharides that can be absorbed easily by the body.

Not only that, many of the properties of the Chinese tonic herbs, Ayurvedic herbs and superfoods are enhanced when blended together in this way. This is the art of herbal tea alchemy! These herbs are the base of our shake recipe and we build up from there.

We call it a "shake tonic elixir" because it is a sweetened tonic drink that acts as a vehicle for delivering major superfood medicine!

Why Make Your Own Protein Shake Recipe?

This shake recipe can be designed and formulated to your own individual needs. That's right, the best part about making your own blended shake is that YOU get to control what you put in it. That means you can tailor it according to your own personal tastes and health goals.

Sure, you can buy pre-made protein shakes at Whole Foods or your local health food store. But really, there is nothing quite like making your own homemade version. It just takes a bit of time to stock your kitchen.

We have a pantry full of jars that are conveniently located close to our blender. So we just scoop, drop, and pour right there on the spot. In addition, you can get into the "superfood lifestyle" habit of making your own herbal teas and nut milks in advance, ready to use in your shake recipes during the work week.

The other advantage to making your own shake is that the all the ingredients are WAY fresher and more nutritious than any shake you would buy off the shelf. In our shakes we always use high quality, organic, raw superfoods and homemade nut milk.

Blending Your Superfoods

shake-recipe-4

A shake recipe can be a way of "drinking your food more and eating your food less". We like to do this for at least the first two meals of the day. It is WAY easier on digestion and nothing beats the amount of potent energy you can get out of one superfood shake.

In today's world, the blender has become a very useful item to have among your kitchen tools. It enables you to make a quick drink or smoothie that saves time, but also gives you a morning or mid day meal that doesn't slow you down or make you tired.
