Dulse (Palmaria palmata) grows primarily on the Northwest Pacifica and North Atlantic coasts, Iceland, Canada and regions of Ireland where is has maintained use as a food and medicine for centuries.
It contains high amounts of potassium to an abundant source of manganese, calcium, zinc and, of course, iodine, promoting hormonal balance and proper thyroid function.

This red seaweed also includes complex polysaccharides that are rich in carrageenan and agar that form gels. It does not have the thickness of say Irish moss but they are present to a lesser, more palatable, degree.
We eat the big pieces of it as a snack food. It is one of my favorites with a nutty tasty and soft texture!
It is a good source of dietary requirements and fiber that is low in sodium and high in potassium.
