Here are some basic juicing recipes to get you started, making your own fresh, raw organic rainbow of juice that will add vibrancy and color to your body and life.

Juicing is easy and fun!  It is a great way to start the day when the digestive tract is clear and the cells are hungry for high quality liquid food that is easy to assimilate.

We tend to go in and out of juicing phases depending on the time of year.

Sometimes we will juice for months in a row then take a break for awhile. It is good to experiment with what works best for you and your particular body and lifestyle.

Green juices are one of the most cleansing juice blends you can consume and are especially beneficial if you are wanting to detox and cleanse the blood of candida, heavy metals and unwanted parasites.

But other juices using sweeter fruits and vegetables are also a great choice for their alkalizing effects that help to balance pH levels.

Basic Juicing Recipes

Green Goodness Juice

This is our basic green juicing recipe that you can adjust to your own personal taste overtime, adding different leafy greens and veggies for variation.

Ingredients:

  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 3-5 big pieces of dino kale
  • handful of parsley
  • some fennel bulb or stalk
  • handful of spinach leaves
  • 1/4c spring water

Press veggies through your favorite juicer and run 1/4c spring water at the end to extract rest of juicing liquid. Pour into a glass. Serves one.

We tend to drink about a quart of juice at one time, in this case you would need to double the above recipe.

Millions have healed "many a health issue" just by juicing alone.  Juice fasting can be done for many days in a row. This allows the organs to take a break from solid food, but at the same time, it replenishes the body with the nutrients needed to re-mineralize depleted cells.

Sweet Delight Juice

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/4 spring water

Press through juicer, pour and serve.

This is one of my husbands favorite's, he likes his juice on the sweeter side. It is delightfully sweet, as the name implies, and makes you smile when you drink it. :)

Carrot Celery Cabbage Juice

Ingredients:

  • one quarter of purple (or red) cabbage
  • 3 large celery
  • 1/2 a cucumber
  • 2 green apples
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1/4 spring water

Press veggies through your favorite juicer and run 1/4c spring water at the end to extract rest of juicing liquid. Pour into a glass. Serves one.

Love the purple color of this one.  It is also a delicious tasting juice, but not too sweet for those avoiding high amounts of sugar. 

Wild Green Sprout Juice

Ingredients:

  • handful of wild fennel stalks
  • handful of wild chicory leaves
  • bunch of wild salad burnet
  • 1/2c of broccoli sprouts
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 1/4c of spring water

Press through juicer, pour and serve.

All wild greens can be substituted for the ones used in this recipe.  I also enjoy miners lettuce and chickweed is the spring time when they are most abundant.

They are especially wonderful when picked fresh and juiced immediately.

Adding sprouts, like broccoli or fenugreek, to your juice is something I picked up from Ann Wigmore and the Hipprocrates Institute.

Beet Juice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • half a med beet root
  • 3 celery stalks
  • quarter habanero pepper
  • 1 green apple
  • 2 carrots
  • big handful of cilantro (with stems)
  • squeeze of lime juice

This is one of my favorite beet juice recipes that I stumbled upon when doing a one day juice fast.

Green Juice Blast Recipe

Ingredients:

  •  1 bunch arugula
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1-3 inches ginger root
  • 3 habaneros
  • 2 apple
  • 1 peeled lemon

This is the famous lemon-ginger green juice blast made popular by Lou Corona, a holistic health educator and juicing guru. 

It is a great juice blend for any kind of congestion or mucus condition and is a great immune system boosting juice if you feel like you are getting sick.

It's a spicy one that "blasts" through the senses, so beware if you are sensitive to hot foods.  For more info visit our green juice blast page.

How to Drink Your Juice

When drinking your juices, drink them slow!! You want to swish the liquid around your mouth a bit and kind of "chew" it.

This prepares for digestion. The green juicing recipes are good for washing the mouth free of bacteria and they will also nourish your teeth.

It is best to drink your juice in the morning on an empty stomach, not with a meal.  This allows for greater nutrient absorption.  If you drink juice in the middle of the day, do so between meals.

Remember... you can also use the pulp from your juice to add to raw soup recipes, dehydrated crackers or try it in our crouton recipe that uses over a quart of left over juicing fiber!
